Money bags
This year, July has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays. This happens once every 823 years. This is called money bags. Chinese legend says , let your friends know and money will arrive within 4 days. Based on Chinese Feng Shui. The one who does not share this info with others …..so sadly will be without money.
Kinda interesting – read on!!! It’s a mystery, nothing to lose, and I think its worth a try. I wish you the best.

This year we’re going to experience four unusual dates.
1/1/11, 1/11/11, 11/1/11, 11/11/11 and that’s not all…

Take the last two digits of the year in which you were born – now add the age you will be this year,

The results will be 111 for everyone in whole world. This is the year of the Money!!!
The proverb goes that if you pass this news on to eight good friends, money will appear in next four days as it is explained in Chinese FENG SHUI.

Those who don’t continue won’t receive…….

Hey for me – it’s worth a try – it’s that or Lotto!

Where two oceans meet...

But do not mix! INCREDIBLE AND SIMPLY MIND-BLOWING !!

These two bodies of water were merging in the middle of The Gulf of Alaska and there was a foam developing only at their junction. It is a result of the melting glaciers being composed of fresh water and the ocean has a higher percentage of salt causing the two bodies of water to have different densities and therefore makes it more difficult to mix. Worlds Smallest Petrol Engine…

Scientists have created the smallest petrol engine in the world (less than a centimeter long not even half an inch),small enough to power a watch or any small gadget. The mini-motor which runs for two years on a single squirt of lighter fuel is set to revolutionize technology associated with it. It generates 700 times more energy than a conventional battery. It could be used to operate laptops and mobile phones for months doing away with the need for charging.

Experts believe it could be phasing out batteries in such items within just six years. The engine, minute enough to be balanced on a fingertip, has been produced by engineers at the University of Birmingham. At present, charging an ordinary battery to deliver one unit of energy involves putting 2,000 units into it. The little engine, because energy is produced locally, is far more effective.

One of the main problems faced by engineers who have tried to produce micro motors in the past has been the levels of heat produced. The engines got so hot they burned themselves out and could not be re-used. The Birmingham team overcame this by using heat-resistant materials such as ceramic and silicon carbide.

Joke of the day - A great writer

There was once a young man who, in his youth, professed his desire to become a great writer. When asked to define "great" he said, "I want to write stuff that the whole world will read, stuff that people will react to on a truly emotional level, stuff that will make them scream, cry, howl in pain and anger!" He now works for Microsoft, writing error messages.

Important Information about Contact Lenses

A 21 year old guy had worn a pair of contact lenses during a barbecue party.(An event or meal at which food is cooked outdoors over an open grill or fire). While barbecuing he stared at the fire charcoals continuously for 2-3 minutes.

After a few minutes, he started to scream for help and moved rapidly, jumping up and down. No one in the party knew why he was doing this?

Then he was admitted into the Hospital, the doctor said he'll be blind permanently because of the contact lenses that he had worn.

Contact lenses are made by plastics, and the heat from the charcoal melted his contact lenses.

DO NOT WEAR CONTACT LENSES WHERE OVERHEATING AND FLAMES ARE CONCERNED.... OR
WHILE COOKING...!

Carrying Your Photo with ME

Hubby - You always carry my photo in your handbag to the office. Why?

Wife - When there is a problem, no matter how impossible, I look at your picture and the problem disappears.

Hubby - You see, how miraculous and powerful I am for you?

Wife - Yes, I see your picture and say to myself, "What other problem can there be greater than this one?"

How to Set up Reliable Web Hosting From Home

There are many reasons why purchasing professional web hosting is justified. However, individuals in certain situations have the opportunity to host it themselves. People starting businesses or testing new ideas may not want to pay for hosting service.

Reliable web hosting from home saves money for future business growth. Once a business is profitable and website traffic increases, it may become necessary to pay for professional hosting.

A computer with a high speed Internet connection is required to host a website. This computer will act as a server and needs to be kept online at all times.

Web servers
The first step in creating reliable web hosting from home is to install a web server on the computer. This can be done with any operating system but most professional hosts use the Linux platform. Most computer users use Windows which has a web server application built in. This program runs in the background and listens to requests from people on the Internet. It finds the website saved on the computer and sends it to the users requesting it.

Next, computers with a local area network are required to configure their router to enable web access. This can be done in the router’s control panel by forwarding outside web requests to the web server’s port. The default port for web requests is 80.

Domain name
In order for remote computers to connect to the web server, a domain is necessary. This is the name of computer’s server on the Internet. Many sites offer free subdomain and domain name selection cost less than $10 a year.

Most services offer free updating of IP addresses, which is important if the computer’s Internet connection does not have a static IP address. It is crucial to know the computer’s external IP address and have a way to update the domain’s DNS records.

DNS Records
Configuring the DNS record allows remote access to the web server by typing in the domain name chosen for the web site. Internet connections with a static IP address simply have to input the IP address once into the DNS records.

Connections with a dynamic IP address require the use of a service similar to DynDns. This is a utility that updates the DNS record every time the IP address changes. All that is required is the creation of an account, selection of the preferred domain name and choosing a name to use as a sub-domain.

Security
The last step in creating reliable web hosting from home is to secure the computer from malicious software and attacks. Updated antivirus and anti-spyware programs and a firewall are necessary for good web hosting. Create rules in the firewall to allow the port chosen earlier access to the Internet, as well as any other programs commonly used.

Hosting from Home
Home-based web hosting is an increasingly common occurrence for new business owners and hobby or professional webmasters alike. Reliable hosting websites can be found for free if the proper steps are taken and security issues are resolved. Installing the right software, configuring each program, creating a domain name and creating a website are all that’s needed for free web hosting from home.

Celebrating An Event

An aged farmer and his wife were leaning against the edge of their pig-pen when the old woman wistfully recalled that the next week would mark their golden wedding anniversary.

"Let's have a party, Homer," she suggested. "Let's kill a pig."

The farmer scratched his grizzled head. "Gee, Ethel," he finally answered, "I don't see why the pig should take the blame for something that happened fifty years ago."

Homemade Skin Care Treatment

At home skin care treatments are fairly easy, and they save people money. Making homemade facial items helps you know exactly what it is that is going into the product you are putting on their skin. With homemade items there are no preservatives or chemicals that may cause irritation. You can use simple ingredients that may already be found in the kitchen to fight acne and aid in smoother skin. Facials are also a good way to relax, and using a few drops of a favorite essential oil mixed in can make a huge difference in your mood.

1) Whip the egg yolk using a fork until it is broken up. Egg helps smooth the skin, according to "The Body Shop Body Care Manual" (Behan, 2003). Simply imagine mixing it to use for scrambled eggs, without the egg whites. The egg whites are not useful because of their sticky consistency, which can make them drying to the skin.

2) Add the teaspoon of olive oil to the egg yolk and the tablespoon of honey, warmed up, and mix together well. Olive oil is very moisturizing. It is also rich in fatty acids, which, according to "The Beauty Workbook", is healing for the skin.

3) Mix in a drop or two of a chosen essential oil. This step is optional. Add peppermint for revitalization or lavender for relaxation. Do not add more than two drops, as essential oils can cause discomfort to sensitive skin if used in excess, according to "The Beauty Bible".

4) Rub the mixed ingredients onto the face, avoiding the eye area and the lips. Put it on in a circular motion. Let it sit for 15 minutes before rinsing it off with lukewarm water. This facial mask is safe enough for daily use, but can as easily be used once a week for a refresher.

Food Mold Facts

Sometimes, people find moldy food in their kitchen, whether it's bread that didn't get used fast enough or forgotten leftovers sitting in the back of the refrigerator. Moldy food should usually be discarded, but a few types may be salvageable.

Identification
The mold growing on your food is a microscopic fungus with three parts. The roots, which grow down into the food, are nearly impossible to see without a microscope. The stalk rises up over the surface of the food, and the spores form on the end of the stalk. The spores are the part you see. They give mold its color, usually either green or white.

The United States Department of Agriculture estimates there could be as many as 300,000 different species of mold fungi. Alternaria, Botrytis, Neurospora and Penicillium are a few that commonly grow on food.

Growth
Mold thrives in warm, moist environments. It doesn't require both of these conditions to grow, though, as it can form even in the refrigerator. Mold spores float through the air searching for a hospitable place to land and grow. This is why you should check for mold on food that was stored near food which has gone moldy. The spores spread rapidly from one food to another.

Dangers
Some types of mold form mycotoxins, which are poisonous. They grow primarily on nuts and grains. One of the most dangerous is aflatoxin, which can cause cancer and other diseases in humans and animals. It's most commonly found in seed corn and peanuts.

If you find mold on your food, don't sniff it. Breathing in mold spores can cause breathing problems. Wrap the moldy food in plastic and throw it away. Wash the shelf or cupboard where it was stored, and check nearby food for signs of mold.

Misconceptions
Many people believe they can pinch away a moldy spot on bread and the rest of it is still safe to eat. This isn't true. The visible surface mold is only part of the mold on food. The spores have sent roots down into the food which you can't see but which are still potentially harmful. Soft or moist food should be thrown away if it has any visible mold. Some hard foods with a low-moisture content, like cheese, salami or firm vegetables, may be safe to eat if you cut the moldy parts off.

Considerations
Not all mold is bad. Some food, such as certain cheeses, are created using mold. This may be on the surface, as with Brie, or internally, as with Roquefort. The mold used for this process is safe to eat.

Some dry-cured ham develops mold on the outside. This should be wiped off, but the ham is still safe to eat.

8 Medical Myths: Which Should You Believe?

1) Ginger
Grandma's wisdom: Ginger is good for upset stomachs.
Science says: Yes. Good evidence shows ginger reduces nausea.

2) Swimming
Grandma's wisdom: Swimming after eating can lead to cramps and drowning.
Science says: Not exactly, but not completely wrong either. After you eat, blood gets shunted to your digestive tract and away from exercising muscles. That can lead to a buildup of lactic acid in your muscles, so swimming a few laps too soon after lunch could cause a sudden (though not fatal) cramp.

3) Honey
Grandma's wisdom: Honey speeds healing.
Science says: Yes. Mild to moderate burns (but not other types of wounds) heal faster if you spread honey on them -- maybe because it creates a moist, antibacterial environment that promotes tissue growth.

4) Butter
Grandma's wisdom: Put butter on a burn.
Science says: No. There's no evidence of a benefit from butter.

5) AC
Grandma's wisdom: Sleeping in air-conditioning can give you a chill.
Science says: She may be onto something. Air conditioners dry out the protective layer of mucus along nasal passages, which likely allows viruses to infect you more easily. Viruses reproduce faster inside a cold nose too.

6) Cold
Grandma's wisdom: If you go out with wet hair, you'll catch a cold.
Science says: Maybe. Some research indicates (but doesn't prove) that a wet head helps cold viruses take hold, by tightening blood vessels in the nose and making it harder for white blood cells to reach the viruses and fight them off.

7) Apple
Grandma's wisdom: An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
Science says: Granny's overstating this fruit's potency. Still, the peel is a good source of quercetin, an important antioxidant that, studies suggest, helps lower blood pressure, fight asthma and allergies, and prevent heart attacks.

8) Chocolate
Grandma's wisdom: Chocolate gives you pimples.
Science says: Not quite. Chocolate bars might trigger an acne flare-up, but if so, the culprit is probably the sugar, milk, and gooey fillings, not the cocoa.

8 Things That Are Making You Fat

1. Your Reading Comprehension : We all know that person, the one who eats burgers and still loses weight while you eat salad and yogurt and can’t shed a pound. Turns out the problem may not be your appetite; it could be your reading skills. According to a study published in the Journal of Consumer Research, healthy-sounding labels are duping dieters.

2. Your Diet Soda Habit: Put down the pop! Studies have shown that subjects who drink two or more diet sodas a day have waist size increases up to six times greater than those of people who don’t drink diet soda. These insidious sodas may be free of calories, but they're not free of consequences!

3. Lack of Sleep: New research suggests sleepless nights don’t just ruin your mood the next day—they could also damage your waistline. Researchers at the New York Obesity Nutrition Research Center at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital found that while sleepy folks seem to burn the same number of calories as well-rested people, they consume about 300 more calories a day.

4. The Room Temperature: Trying to lose weight? Turn down the thermostat. A cozy home could be contributing to making you fat, suggests research in the journal Obesity Reviews. When our bodies are cold, we shiver, causing our muscles to contract to generate heat—and burn calories.

5. Your Overweight Friends: A New England Journal of Medicine study declared that people can actually ''catch'' obesity from close friends.

When researchers followed 12,067 people over 32 years, they concluded that those of us with very close friends who are obese have a 171 per cent higher chance of becoming obese too. The theory goes: you're influenced by your friends, and if they overeat, you may unwittingly follow their lead. Surprisingly, spouses have less sway over the belly than close friends of the same sex. The good news is that it may also work in reverse. Hang out with thin people and you might lose weight.

6. Eating Too Much: If you prescribe to the idea that eating small meals frequently throughout the day makes it easier to reduce overall calories, you could be doing yourself in. Turns out we're programmed to think that a meal is a perfect combination of proteins, carbohydrates, and fat. In reality, the mini-meals in some studies are much more like small—very small—snacks. How small? Check out the story below for a reality check.

7. Toxic Chemicals: While you may never have heard of phthalates—a family of chemicals used to make plastics flexible—new evidence linking these and other so-called “endocrine-disrupting” chemicals with obesity has been growing. In fact, researchers have taken to calling many of these substances obesogens (obesity-promoting chemicals). A healthy immune system can help ward off the dangers of these chemicals, but why not boost your body's efforts by not packing your produce in plastic the next time you buy groceries?

8. Your Stress Level: When you have chronic stress, your body steps up its production of cortisol and insulin. Your appetite increases, and so do the chances you’ll engage in “hedonistic” eating in the form of high-calorie sweets and fats. When you try to combat stress with food, you activate the reward center of your brain. After that initial feel-good spell wears off, you’ll reach again for the same thing that made you feel good, calm, and relaxed in the first place: more food.

Can I help you?

A young businessman had just started his own firm. He rented a beautiful office and had it furnished with antiques. Sitting there, he saw a man come into the outer office. Wishing to appear the hot shot, the businessman picked up the phone and started to pretend he had a big deal working.

He threw huge figures around and made giant commitments. Finally he hung up and asked the visitor, ""Can I help you?""

The man said, ""Yeah, I've come to activate your phone lines."

How to control kidney disease through diet

Although chronic kidney disease has silently afflicted, a strictly regimented diet and lifestyle can ease the disease burden.

Globally, kidney disease is the third biggest killer after cancer and cardiac ailments. Kidney disease has indeed assumed worrisome proportions in India. Once afflicted, it's advisable to follow dietary guidelines rigorously. With CKD, your kidneys can no longer filter waste products and fluids from your blood.

According to Dr Umesh Khanna, chairman, Mumbai Nephrology Group, "One can control a build-up of these substances by avoiding foods that worsen the problem. To begin with, limit the intake of sodium (salt), potassium, protein, fluids (including soups, as well as fruits and vegetables containing water: grapes, oranges, apples, watermelon, cucumber, lettuce, etc), phosphorous and calcium."

Along with heavy medication, diet restrictions can make food flavourless. As a result, patients often complain of their tongue becoming tasteless. Tired of eating bland food daily, they may binge on processed foods. Beware! Gorging on unhealthy foods to savour their flavour does more harm than good. Processed foods contain high levels of salt and preservatives. Be practical. Food need not be tasteless. A squeeze of lemon juice in select foods can enhance flavour. Talk to your renal dietician about kidney-friendly foods. Also, about the foods you can eat within safe limits.

Dietary guidelines:

- Salt (or sodium) is a major cause of CKD, high blood pressure and heart disease. Restrict your daily intake. High salt intake causes fluid retention. Don't add salt after cooking -- the lesser, the better! Low-salt substitutes are no good either, since they contain high levels of potassium.

- A low-protein diet slows disease progression and avoids build-up of excess urea. Protein is however essential for growth, muscle building and tissue repair. So consume enough protein to stay healthy.

- Potassium levels can be high in severe renal failure or for those on dialysis. Very high levels are dangerous and can cause cardiac arrest. A word of caution: restrict intake only after consulting your dietician and checking your potassium level. This is necessary because potassium is present in many healthy foods.

- Phosphorus levels must also be controlled. Excess phosphorus can cause total kidney failure as well as bone disease and heart ailments.

- Calcium is another concern for kidney patients, causing serious bone disease in later years if not controlled.

- Fluid intake must also be monitored. If not on dialysis, however, do not restrict fluids unless there is a fluid overload problem. Drink water only when you are thirsty. If fluid retention is a problem, limit salt intake. You cannot control fluid intake if you consume too much salt – you will keep feeling thirsty.

Since most foods contain phosphorus, it's necessary to take a medication called phosphate binder. When you consume phosphate binders like sevelamer carbonate during or immediately after meals, it binds like a magnet to the phosphorus in your food. This prevents phosphorus from being absorbed by your body. Remember to take your phosphate binder along whenever you travel, so you don't miss a single dose.

Diet, dialysis, and medication are all crucial in their own way. But it takes a combination of all three to have kidney disease under control. Cigarettes and alcohol must also be avoided or reduced. If you follow these guidelines strictly, your life will never be completely knocked down by CKD.

Keep Smiling

Research has shown that the mere physical act of smiling, without actually feeling like it, triggers internal biological reactions that stimulate emotions and contribute to a better mood – in you and others.

In other words, when you feel down, fake a big fat smile and you will lighten up automatically. But be careful, it also works the other way around, so remember to keep smiling.

Of course genuine smiling works a lot better.

Monkey Business

It's an old story that we read in Class 3 but with a new ending.

A hat-seller who was passing by a forest decided to take a nap under
one of the trees, so he left his whole basket of hats by the side. A few hours later, he woke up and realized that all his hats were gone. He looked up and to his surprise, the tree was full of monkeys and they had taken all his hats.

The hat seller sits down and thinks of how he can get the hats down.
While thinking he started to scratch his head. The next moment, the monkeys were doing the same. Next, he took down his own hat, the monkeys did exactly the same. An idea came to his mind* He took his hat and threw it on the floor and the monkeys did that too. So he finally managed to get all his hats back.

Fifty years later, his grandson, Sukhwinder, also became a hat-seller and had heard this monkey story from his grandfather. One day, just like his grandfather, he passed by the same forest. It was very hot, and he took a nap under the same tree and left the hats on the floor.

He woke up and realized that all his hats were taken by the monkeys on the tree.
He remembered his grandfather's words, started scratching his head and the monkeys followed. He took down his hat and fanned himself and again the monkeys followed. Now, very convinced of his grandfather's idea, Sukhwinder threw his hat on the floor but to his surprise, the monkeys still held on to all the hats.

Then one monkey climbed down the tree, grabbed the hat on the floor,
gave him a slap and said, "You think only you have a grandfather !!!???"

The surprising benefits of lemon!

The surprising benefits of lemon!
================================
Institute of Health Sciences, 819 N. L.L.C. Charles Street Baltimore , MD 1201.
This is the latest in medicine, effective for cancer!

Read carefully & you be the judge.
Lemon (Citrus) is a miraculous product to kill cancer cells. It is 10,000 times stronger than chemotherapy.

Why do we not know about that? Because there are laboratories interested in making a synthetic version that will bring them huge profits. You can now help a friend in need by letting him/her know that lemon juice is beneficial in preventing the disease. Its taste is pleasant and it does not produce the horrific effects of chemotherapy. How many people will die while this closely guarded secret is kept, so as not to jeopardize the beneficial multimillionaires large corporations? As you know, the lemon tree is known for its varieties of lemons and limes. You can eat the fruit in different ways: you can eat the pulp, juice press, prepare drinks, sorbets, pastries, etc... It is credited with many virtues, but the most interesting is the effect it produces on cysts and tumors. This plant is a proven remedy against cancers of all types. Some say it is very useful in all variants of cancer. It is considered also as an anti microbial spectrum against bacterial infections and fungi, effective against internal parasites and worms, it regulates blood pressure which is too high and an antidepressant, combats stress and nervous disorders.

The source of this information is fascinating: it comes from one of the largest drug manufacturers in the world, says that after more than 20 laboratory tests since 1970, the extracts revealed that:
It destroys the malignant cells in 12 cancers, including colon, breast, prostate, lung and pancreas ... The compounds of this tree showed 10,000 times better than the product Adriamycin, a drug normally used chemotherapeutic in the world, slowing the growth of cancer cells. And what is even more astonishing: this type of therapy with lemon extract only destroys malignant cancer cells and it does not affect healthy cells.

Maddy wanted to be an accountant, so he went for an aptitude test...

Tester: If I give you two rabbits, two rabbits, and another two rabbits, how many rabbits have you got?
Maddy: Seven!
Tester: No, listen carefully again. If I give you two rabbits, two rabbits, and another two rabbits, how many rabbits have you got?
Maddy: Seven!
Tester: Let’s try this another way. If I give you two bottles of beer, two bottles of beer, and another two bottles of beer, how many bottles of beer have you got?
Maddy: Six.
Tester: Good! Now, if I give you two rabbits, two rabbits, and another two rabbits, how many rabbits have you got?
Maddy: Seven!
Tester: How on earth do you work out that three lots of two rabbits is seven?
Maddy: I’ve already got one rabbit at home!
